Thumbnails for the Blackhollow Club that I realistically should’ve done before the previous version. It was actually super fun to try to get these done quickly and then through some very loose value on them to emphasize the focal points.

The perspective is definitely a little too wonky in the closest corner, but the point is, I at least tackled what I set out to do today.

The super sketchy beginnings of the rival Blackhollow Club. I want it to feel open and ritzy in comparison to Nightshade’s more cramped space.

So, these color studies are a little all over the place in terms of quality because as I was doing them, I finally started figuring out that wow, reference is extraordinarily helpful. Who knew?

Various studies I worked on over the week, more or less compiled into chronological order (though there’s a scene in between the fight and the crappy trumpet player). Slow going, but it’s happening…

Trying to decide which composition to use for my were fight scene. Both are rough and will need to be polished, but as of right now I still can’t decide which one is working better, though I’m leaning towards the first one.
Thoughts?

On the one hand, spending all day on this feels like I wasn’t being productive enough. On the other hand, this is my favorite color study I’ve done so far (and, of course, it’s a relatively unimportant transition scene).
